The model that recently made her Sports Illustrated debut, also has a food blog which she writes. In her blog ‘So Delushious’, Chrissy shares low-carb recipes she’s come up with and uses! The beauty also shares that breakfast is the one meal she refuses to skip and that it has to have eggs, and when she’s in the mood for salty crunchy chips she opts for wasabi flavored seaweed sheets instead. Chrissy is also a lover of Sashimi, which she says she’ll buy “six pieces or so a day and just snack on them” or wrap them up in her seaweed sheets!

Background

Teigen was born on born November 30, 1985 in Delta, Utah. Her last name is pronounced "TIE-gen" and comes from Norwegian descent from her father’s side. Her mother hails from Thailand and the family often moved around until they chose to settle in California where a photographer discovered the model while she was working at a surfing goods store.

Career

This American model successfully balances the life of working in the fashion industry, being a food blogger and her personal life with famous fiancé John Legend. Her friend Brooklyn Decker introduced her to Sports Illustrated and since then it has heavily influenced her career where she can be seen photographed in the 2010-2014 issues. The magazine recognized her as “Rookie of the Year” and recently had her on the cover with Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge for their 50th anniversary. She is currently represented by IMG Models in New York.

Teigen is also an entrepreneur, co-designing with DiNela Brazil a swimwear collection. Notably, if you are a player of the video game Need For Speed you will recognize her as the main character in the 2011 EA release The Run. You can also see her featured in her fiancés single, “All Of Me” which was creatively inspired by their own bond.

Health and Wellness

Healthy eating is her forte with this actress turning to her blog www.sodelushious.com to share all her international cooking tips that she picks up as she travels the world for modeling. You can also see her on the small screen, on the Cooking Channel as she filmed a February 2013 special with husband John Legend, and a more recent Cookies and Cocktails episode

Her favorite nutrient dense foods are omelets, avocados with salt and pepper, tuna and raw almonds. You can often find green juices in her hand, full of blended vegetables like spinach. Her secret is to avoid too much apple juice, as although it makes the juice sweeter, it is not the best choice!

Her fitness secret is a new workout that has become an instant hit in the fitness industry. Ballet Barre classes simplifies dance training moves by isolating the movement. This workout links Classical Dance Training, Strength Training and Pilates to promote stability, grace and muscle strength. You get the dancer body without dancing!
